Cane Creek Mountains Poster

Created as part of a college design assignment, this travel poster highlights Cane Creek Mountains Natural Area in Alamance County, North Carolina. The objective was to develop an illustrated poster promoting a local park while capturing the character of the destination through thoughtful visual design.

I chose Cane Creek Mountains because it was a park I hadn't explored before. Visiting the location allowed me to study the landscape firsthand, from its wooded trails and wildlife to the elevated views at sunset. These observations helped shape the poster's composition and overall visual direction.
After researching traditional travel posters, I developed initial sketches to establish the layout and key visual elements before moving into Adobe Illustrator. This approach helped me create a composition inspired by the actual landscape rather than relying entirely on reference imagery.
This was an independently developed student project, completed within the guidelines of a college design assignment. I handled the location research, concept development, sketching, illustration, and final artwork.

The completed poster was selected by Alamance Parks and Recreation for printing and sale in its gift shop. The artwork was also featured on the organization's social media alongside other selected student designs, taking the project beyond the classroom and into a real-world setting.
